September 29, 2005: Believe it or not, this is the street
just in front of our driveway today. The workers tell us it will be a road
again before tomorrow, still a dirt road, but at least a road and not a
trench.
The puppies spent most of the afternoon outside today. They never tire
of exploring our back yard. They've figured out how to crawl underneath
one of our decks, they've trampled our hostas, and seem to enjoy our reactions
as they pick up every stick, acorn, leaf and who knows what in their mouths.
A few visitors have stopped over this afternoon to say goodbye. The
puppies are exhausted. As you can see, they still like to sleep
"attached" to one of their littermates. It's easy to understand how that
first night away from the litter is tough on the little guys.
