September 6, 2005:  We are SO proud of these excellent little puppies!!  EVERY ONE of them has learned to sit and make eye contact to get lifted out of the puppy pen and taken outside.  Soooo cute to see several little butts on the ground looking at you waiting to be picked up.  Every one gets a click/treat for sitting; cheese Charley Bears are quite the hit!  Even cuter is to see the ones who didn't sit and are standing up on the ex pen look around and say "oops - those guys are sitting **and chewing** - I better sit too" as they quickly plop their little butts on the ground.  Just FYI, I've also been click/treating for pottying outside - soon I'm going to buy stock in Charlee Bears!!!  ;-)))

September 7, 2005:  All the puppies experienced something new today.  They each spent about 15 minutes in a wire crate in the back of our car (3 in each crate).  No, they did not get to go anywhere, the car was just parked in the garage.  But, they did get a chance to sit in there and look out at the world!  As always, they were all very curious.

Ok, these are perfect little clicker babies, but I've created 9 monsters, I'm afraid.  The "sit and make eye contact" game has become so much fun and has been so heavily rewarded, that IT'S ALL THEY'LL DO!!!!  We take them out to potty two at a time and now when we set them down, they whirl around to face us, plop their little butts down and stare at our faces!  But, all kidding aside, that's ok because we just don't click/treat for that outside - we click/treat for pottying!  I'm sure it won't take them long to figure out that they get paid for different behaviors in different places.  It sure is cute to see those little faces with eyes glued to our faces until we click/treat, though - inside OR outside!
