You don't have to spend much time at all in Grand Marais to figure
out that it’s a special place. It’s a harbor town on the big lake,
but it also sits right on the edge of the Boundary Waters
Canoe Area Wilderness and the Superior National Forest.
Visitors and locals alike enjoy some of the finest hiking,
canoeing and skiing (and dog swimming) in the nation.

Despite the beauty of the country, it’s the community that
really makes the Grand Marais area special. Unique small
businesses, a vibrant artistic community and a diverse group
of people combine to make Grand Marais a place where
you want to stay - for a week, a year, or a lifetime.
