Agility

The week began Tuesday morning with agility.  Meg and Snicker each ran in Jumpers, Meg in Novice Preferred, Snicker in Open Preferred.  Meg qualified in first place and earned 2 beautiful ribbons!

Veteran Sweepstakes

Meg turned 7 this year and competed in Veteran Sweeps.  Meg has not been in the show ring for 5 years.  She had FUN!  Her movement was outstanding, and her tail was wagging.  Honestly, she looked better here than any other time in the show ring.

And, she made the cut!!!

Puppy Sweepstakes

Wednesday morning was Puppy Sweeps.  Boone, Mick and Painter were in the 9-12 month class.  Boone and Mick made the cut. Boone, Mick and Painter were right next to each other.  It was GREAT to see the  3 Flashback puppies together!!!

Patsy was in the 9-12 month class.  Patsy was expertly handled by Melody, who has handled Snicker at 4 Specialties.  Patsy finished 5th, just out of the ribbons!  Thank You Melody!!!

Regular Dog Class

Thursday morning the Flashback boys were in Regular 9-12 month class.  Again, they were side by side, Mick, Boone and Painter.  They all looked great.  Boone and Painter made        the cut.

Stud Dog Class

Meg went into the ring with her dad Shadow, CH Beachcliff Alec the Shadow Baldwin CD OA NAJ JH in the Stud Dog class on Thursday.  Meg looked OK, although she did not seem to enjoy the ring as much as she did in Veteran Sweeps.

Regular Bitch Class

PATSY!

Linda handled Patsy in the 9-12 month Regular class on Friday.  Patsy can be a bit wild, but she seems to understand that the show ring is not the place to be crazy.  Patsy looked good!

Flashback Puppy Playtime!

The puppies had playtime Friday afternoon.  The boys were very interested in Miss Patsy.  Patsy did not really know how to react.

Snicker wanted everyone to know that we should not even consider bringing one of her boys back home with us!

A fun time was had by all!!!

Brood Bitch Class

The Brood Bitch Class was Saturday morning.  We decided to go in with an all liver team, Snicker, Patsy and Boone!  Melody handled Snicker, Linda handled Patsy and Sharon handled Boone.  Patsy and Boone knew it was show time, they had spent an hour the afternoon before wrestling on the ground, but this morning it was all business in the ring.  And Snicker displayed her standard professionalism.  They all looked and moved great!

Snicker took 2nd Place!!!

Going Home

We all had a great time at the Specialty, it was so much fun to see Boone, Mick and Painter, and of course, Sharon, Heather and Sharon and Ray!  The Specialty is truly a time to refresh friendships with others throughout the country who share our love with this most amazing breed, the Flat-Coated Retriever.

Look forward to seeing everyone in Minnesota in 2007!

2007 Flat-Coated Retriever National Specialty

We have traditionally taken pictures of all our dogs after we've packed up to begin the drive home.  We've kept that tradition alive at Purina Farms.

Remember, the joy of attending a Specialty is walking into the ring with your dog, not whether you walk out of the ring with a ribbon.
